Note 4: League Format: 

Division 1: All 6 teams will play each other 4 times in a league format over the 4 match days.

Division 2: All 12 teams will play each other in a league format on days 1 and 2. After this the teams will be split into two divisions with 6 teams in each division, the teams in each division will play each other twice more on the remaining two days. Prizes will be awarded for the winners and runners-up in each division.

 

Note 5: Dress Code: 

Players must conform to the ETTA dress code and wear a short-sleeved shirt, shorts or skirt, socks and playing shoes. Shirts/shorts must not carry any designs or lettering which might cause offence or bring the game into disrepute and should be a dark colour.  The wearing of caps when playing is unacceptable and we hope clubs will support us in preventing players wearing headgear unless for religious or ethnic reasons.  Other garments, such as part or all of a tracksuit shall not be worn during play except with the permission of the referee who in the case of NJL matches shall be the MDO.

 

Note 6: Service Rule: 

All players must be made aware of the service rules, including, ball stationary on open palm (not in fingers), six inches (16 cm) throw up.

 

Note 7: Photographs:

Photographs may be taken for publicity purposes.  Register any objections on the day to the MDO.

 

Note 8: Start Time:

Report at 09.00am for 09.30 start of play. There will be a pre-match team briefing at the venue to enable teams to be aware of what is required and safety rules applying to the venue etc.  You will also be able to raise questions with the MDO on any matter related to the venue and playing at the venue.  Briefing will be 15 minutes prior to starting time of first session.

 

Note 9: Player Licences:

You are reminded that players in the NJL must be in possession of a full player licence and these should be obtained prior to Day 1, Saturday 28th November.  The player licence number must be entered on the score sheets.

 

Note 10: Ranking Points:

NJL matches will qualify for ranking points. Full details of ratings can be found on the ETTA website.

 

Note 11: Communications:

Where possible all communications will be by email.

 

Note 12: Refreshments: There are vending machines for drinks and chocolate at the each venue. There is also a cafe available at the new Booths Supermarket adjacent to the car park in Garstang and a cafe is available at the venue in Preston.

Directions:

 

To Blackpool.

 

M6 to J32, M55 to end of motorway, straight ahead onto Yeadon Way, at end of Yeadon Way carry on passed a mini roundabout, turn right at roundabout A6073 onto Waterloo Rd, turn right at lights onto St.Anne's Rd. TTC on right about 400yds.

 

To Preston.

 

From the North / South and East of Preston.

Arrive Preston at Junction 31 M6 (Tickled Trout ) or via A59 Blackburn.

Follow signs to Preston along New Hall Lane. Go to the end of New Hall Lane, T Junction, Turn Left and immediately right into Queen St. Follow Queen St, cross Manchester Rd (mini roundabout), take the next left into St Austin’s Road.  The Centre is at the end of this short road. 

Arriving Preston from the West ( Southport / Liverpool).  Follow the A59 into Preston (via Penwortham).  Use the Guild Way flyover, into Marsh Lane, and Ring Way through the town (Bus Station on right). Keep straight on at the next set of lights into London Rd,  the Prison and Lancashire Museum will be on your left  Go straight on ( Homebase on your right ),  take the outside lane at the traffic lights, through the lights and turn immediately right at next lights into Queen Street. Follow Queen St, cross Manchester Rd (mini roundabout),  take the next left into St Austin’s Road.  The Centre is at the end of this short road.

 

Parking (Pay and display, 50 per hour) is available at the front, with additional parking at the rear of the building. When entering the building the Table Tennis area is to the rear at the lower level.

 

 

To Garstang.

 

From the North

 

Leave the M6 at Junction 33, at the roundabout, turn left onto the A6 signposted Garstang. Continue on the A6 for about 3 miles until you reach a set of traffic lights. Go straight on at the lights, over two bridges, immediately after the second bridge turn left into Moss Lane. Over the canal bridge, after the bridge take the first turning on the left which is Windsor Road, follow this road round, the Leisure Centre is on your right hand side, the entrance to the car park is after the Leisure Centre on the right. Please remember to park at the back, right end of the car park in the red bays which are the long stay parking bays.

 

From the South

 

From the M6 Junction 32 turn left heading for Preston/Blackpool, leave the motorway at the first junction (M55 Junction 1). At the roundabout take the third exit which is the A6 North heading for Garstang/Broughton. After one mile you will reach a set of traffic lights, continue straight on for another 4 miles or so, through the village of Bilsborrow, and then straight across at the mini roundabout (Barton Grange Garden Centre). You will then pass a service station on the right side of the road, then a bit further on a service station on the left side of the road. After the second service station continue for about one mile until you reach a pub on the left called “The Chequered Flag”, turn right in front of the pub into Moss Lane. If you cross two bridges you’ve gone too far!!

 

Down Moss Lane, over the canal bridge, after the bridge take the first turning on the left which is Windsor Road, follow this road round, the Leisure Centre is on your right hand side, the entrance to the car park is after the Leisure Centre on the right.

 

Parking:  Parking is available in the Pay and Display Car Park next to the Leisure Centre. PLEASE NOTE – LONG STAY PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THIS CAR PARK AT THE BACK BEHIND THE LEISURE CENTRE IN THE RED MARKED BAYS - £1-80 FOR THE ENTIRE DAY
